Canyoning in Asturias
Canyoning is a sport that consists of descending along the river bed and through the canyon areas using the technical material and the appropriate progression techniques such as rappelling, jumping, swimming, climbing, handrails or slides.
The abundance of descents in the north of the peninsula, and in Asturias in particular, makes this an ideal area for the practice of this discipline, with descents of all kinds and difficulty, all located in spectacular environments of great natural value.

The Fitu …
A 360º panorama of natural spectacle, with the Bay of Biscay and the profile, almost always snow-capped, of the Picos de Europa.

We have a space reserved for leaving the car and a Recreational Area

To reach the viewpoint we will descend on foot along a ramp, not very demanding, up to the steps that take us to the top.

Inaugurated in 1927, the first thing that will surprise us upon arrival is the viewpoint itself. It has a small UFO shape, although the locals quickly christened it as cazu, because of its cup shape.

It was built to enjoy the views  without the visual obstacle of the trees.

Natural Park of the Fuentes del Narcea, Degaña and Ibias.
Path: Mines of Gold of the Corralín
The route of the Mines of Gold takes us by Sisterna, that is in the council of Ibias. In its landscape they emphasize chestnuts, that are plantations realized by the man with aims of aprovechamiento, of the wood or of the fruit. In most cases, the castañedo occupies a band close to the meadows, that is, the lower and lower slopes of the slopes and therefore more easily exploitable.
In the vicinity of towns and villages, it is common to find cabornos, old trees of large size and hollow trunk that were peeled to increase fruit production, while the rest of the plantation was used for logging.
The auriferous wealth of the zone was intensely exploited during the Roman domination. The cuts are still visible in the landscape of the area, as in the surroundings of the Corralín, of which a popular saying is said: «Corralín, golden bowl, you throw a stone and a treasure appears

In the  Mountain of the Picos de Europa  and especially in its foothills, there is one of those paradises to enjoy enormously «The Garganta del Río Casaño, or Casañu, is a path on the margin of a very crystalline and capricious river of forms that passes through esculti , majadas, foces and castañeos and crossing it by singular bridges. There we will see the old caves to keep the cattle and ancestral hen houses or circular stone cochineras.
